We just got home from Mbour (a city about 1.5 hours south of Dakar). A group of us rented a house for the week and just relaxed in the sun. Honestly not much happened, just reading, cooking, and chatting.

The house was right along the beach so we explored that a bit. Unfortunately, the beach was full of garbage so it made it hard to walk along. But it was fun to watch the fishermen come in and out in their boats. We were told that it's been a hard season this year because it's so windy that the boats can't go far enough out to get enough fish.

The house had a guard who lived in front with his family, so we played with their kids too. Someone made the comment that it's the closest thing we'll have to a host family.

One day we wanted to cook some fish so we asked where we could buy some. He called a lady who brought some right to the house. She only spoke Wolof, but it was awesome practice. We managed to get through the exchange and of course once she determined we could kind of speak Wolof and knew how to cook wanted to marry us off to her son. It was fun to get some speaking in :)

Overall I really enjoyed it. Mom is flying in tonight so I will get to spend the weekend with her (and the next 2 weeks). Then my internship starts on Monday so things keep happening :):)
