Mom and special visits

Mom has been visiting me for the past 2 weeks. We’ve had fun exploring together. The sister workers (our ministers) also joined her on March 21. Their names are Leotine and Joelle. Mom found an apartment near me so have enjoyed spending time together in the evenings and weekends. We eat together in the evenings and they have been exploring Dakar.

Last Saturday we went to the market and explored downtown. We had lunch at the French institute which is such a quiet place in the middle of the city (very much welcomed). Then we had a visit with some friends of a family who used to live in Dakar.

Sunday we had a nice study. The sister workers brought us boubous to wear.

We had a birthday party for one of my roommates at mom’s Airbnb. It was the most “American” party we’ve had in Senegal so far complete with pizza and strawberries so it was a nice way to spend the evening!

This past Saturday we visited Lac Rose (separate post). Sunday we explored more of Dakar and yesterday, everyone headed back. But it's only 5 more weeks until I head home :)
