a day of new things

Today was the day of many firsts:

I....

1. Walked to school for the first time without looking at directions (and even walked headfirst into 4 lane traffic- as there are no crosswalks- with minimal stress)

2. Bought groceries

3. Tried baobab and hibiscus juice

4. Figured out how to turn on the water heater, so no more ice showers

5. Attended the first class... the history of Senegal. We are currently learning about transatlantic, trans Saharan, and domestic slavery
